Werewolf
WereWolf Facts
✦ There are those born werewolves and those that have been bitten.
✦ Initial transformation Is after the body has reached maturity and has never happened before the age of 19. It can occur anytime at that point and often triggered by a stressful event.
✦ Of all the supernaturals werewolves are the most protective of keeping human world from knowing of their existence. The Silence is protected at all cost.
✦ Werewolves are drawn to one another. They can sense one another's presence in close proximity ( 20 m) but are extremely careful not to expose one another outside the wolf community. Wolves can only sense their own kind.
✦ There is no Taboo among werewolves for the having multiple partners.
✦ Wolves have enhanced smells although they cannot distinguish between the smell of a human and a vampire. That sense will not help in identifying a different race.
✦ Werewolves cannot sense energy use or magic being used of any kind.
✦ Werewolves follow the lunar cycle. On a full moon they cannot help but shift.
✦ Werewolves have three forms human, wolf ( four legged) and Werewolf.
✦ A werewolf can only shift twice in a day as the shift is very painful and exhausting.

The Silence
All supernaturals in Ravenhurst hide what they are from the humans. If exposed to the human world pitchforks and riots will ensue. The Supernatural Council holds authority in this matter and will final the say if the silence is broken. Therefore if a werewolf is found guilty of breaking the silence by showing any acts of supernatural ability or form in the public view, they could risk facing exile or death. (Remember there are human NPCS all over Ravenhurst in the public places.)
Abilities and Characteristics
Human Form✦ A normal human of peak health, strength, and endurance.
✦ Senses are stronger than a normal humans but not superhero level. (Example: A werewolf in human form couldn't hear through brick walls, but may be able to hear a cell phone call at the other end of the bar.) ✦ Just like every other human. Personality is determined by your background like anyone else. |
Wolf Form ( four legged)✦ Four legged form.
✦ A normal wolf of peak health, strength, and endurance. ✦ Heightened Senses (wolf in the wild). ✦ Endurance and speed well beyond that of a human. ✦ Claws. Fangs. Fur coat that allows greater resistance to the elements. ✦ Cannot speak in this form. ✦ The use of howls, yips barks and body language to communicate with humans but very simplistic. ✦ Any action requiring opposing thumbs is obviously out of the question. ✦ More wolf than human but understands a bit more than a wild wolf. ✦ Can feel sympathy for others. ✦ Remains in the woods (if a wild wolf wondered into town what would the sheriff do?) ✦ Protective over territory. |

✦ Physical strength, speed, stamina, etc. are exceptional.
✦ All powers/abilities are stronger at night, and the larger the moon's phase is, the stronger their powers are.

Healing Abilities
Human FormYou heal faster than a normal human, but not instantly. For example, a non-lethal gunshot to the arm to a regular human with medical assistance would heal in about a month. A human wolf would be about 2 weeks as long as proper treatment was given. That does mean medical healing. Turning to wolf form will speed up the healing process, however that will depend on the severity of the wound and if you are able to make it to a place that you can shift without calling attention to yourself. The pain will be the same as a human and wolves in human form will hurt. If there are any questions to how long a wound in roleplay will take to heal please ask an Inspired member. A note to think about if you are injured in town there are NPC townsfolk all around. It may require your character to at least pretend to be hurt for awhile in order to not call attention to yourself.
|
Wolf Form In this form the pain is still there but the wolf will heal faster. A few days instead of a weeks. In most circumstances if they have been hurt bad enough they will retreat as they do not have the tolerance of pain level as their werewolf form. In this form just like the human form they can be rendered unconscious or unable to retreat if the injury becomes severe enough.
|
Werewolves
The amount of damage a Werewolf can absorb and still keep going is truly impressive. They have the ability to stay on their feet and functional despite massive wounds that would incapacitate any other creature. In werewolf form healing takes a day or so and their pain threshold is so high they can tolerate most attacks against them unless they are being attacked with one of their flaws. There ability to fight off an attacker is strong but it is short lived, a werewolf will retreat if the injury he/she are receiving begin to over take them. When the short burst of adrenaline ends, the cumulative effect of the injuries will catch up with them. Many werewolves drop dead on the spot.
It will take time for wounds to heal after a battle especially if no medical help is given.

Flaws
✦ Silver
Human form - Silver makes them uncomfortable in this form. They cannot sense it unless they are exposed to it. When human it causes a moderate metallic allergy.
Wolf Form- causes severe pain and will leave a mark
Werewolf form - Silver is deadly in this form; its very touch burns, blackens flesh and causes weakness.
✦ Fire
Will not kill, but healing is really slow in cases of burns in all forms.
✦ The Moon
Werewolves follow the phases of the moons. As the moon becomes fuller the urge to shift becomes stronger. The night of the full moon the werewolf has no choice in the matter. Most werewolves have learned to keep themselves locked away and hidden on the night of the full moon in order to protect themselves and others.
✦ Memory
If a werewolf is forced into a shift such as in a high stress situation or on the night of the full moon, the werewolf will not have any memory of what they did or didn't do. Even with this memory loss the werewolves still know to stay hidden and will not venture into
heavy populated humans areas.
Causes of death
Silver wounds to the heart or brain.
Decapitation.
Removal of heart and lungs.
Massive blood loss.

Shifting
Average wolf : 2 posts to shifts
Alpha wolves: 1 to 2 posts
A shift is when you change into any form. Shifting is extremely painful and exhausting. This should be roleplayed out each time a shift occurs and why there are limits to shifting.
Only 1 or 2 shifts allowed per day. For example the first shift is human to werewolf. The second shift would be werewolf back to human or wolf form.
Partial shifts are not allowed. You are not functional until you have completed your shift, i.e. - you can absorb great damage during the shift but you cannot dish it out until you are fully shifted.
What triggers shifts?
A werewolf can transform at will however there are two circumstances in which a werewolf with shift involuntary:
✦ Emotional Stress/Anger or Fear
Intense situations of stress and anger can cause a shift into werewolf form, if this happens they will attack anyone or everyone close by before leaving the area as they will have lost all control.
Intense situations of Fear may cause the werewolf shift or a shift into wolf form which result in the wolf trying to escape.
✦ The Full Moon
Werewolves will automatically change into their true form, and will not be able to revert to their human form again until sunrise. At any other phase of the moon, the urge to transform at night is present, but they are capable of controlling it. The smaller the moon's appearance is, the smaller the urge is to transform.

The Bite
The Bite from a Werewolf in Beast form has potential to change a person into a werewolf. The bite to any human (witches included) brings out a primal feeling within a person. Some of these effects would be higher emotions ( angers easily), a need and want to be outside, and all basic needs become more intense. Humans will be able to fight off these urges to some degree and if they can control themselves they will not change. The Change however will occur if the human kills another person during that month, regardless of reason (npc can be killed without permission). The act of killing triggers the change and they will become a werewolf. This curse can't be broken and if they had any other abilities they will lose them. The Change is extremely painful and not all humans can survive it. The cursed werewolf is the same as a regular werewolf but they are slighter weaker as they are not born wolves. They will typically remain with a lower dominance as well.
The bite will not change a vampire, fae or demon into a werewolf.
Those that are turned werewolf through a bite shift between human and beast. The wolf form takes time to learn and will be earned through roleplay.

Dominance
Werewolf Dominance - The disposition of an individual to assert control in dealing with others.
Animal Behavior - High status in a social group, usually acquired as the result of aggression, that involves the tendency to take priority in access to limited resources, as food, mates, or space.
The majority of werewolves are a Level 1 in dominance. Werewolves don't really like calling attention to themselves. Younger werewolves would also be a Level 1 dominance as it is gained through life experience.
The more active a player the more opportunity they will have to gain in Dominance Level 1- 3 (See Roleplay perks)
Level 1 Dominance
Very ordinary. They could command attention but they would have to work at it, through their actions and relationships (high-school jock)
Level 2 Dominance
Their mere presence would be as off-putting as a minor celebrity or professional fighter. They would gain attention and deference from those in the room, but wouldn't necessarily be able to command it.
Level 3 Dominance
Their gaze can cause people to feel feel a primal fear of danger and death. (think scary biker guy) People would feel the urge to do anything to shift their presence away from them.
The Levels can be earned and lost in Roleplay.
All wolves coming into Ravenhurst must start off as a level 1 or 2. No one can enter in at a higher level. There are no exceptions to this rule. If you wish to start off at a level two, it needs to be shown in your backstory why your character is at that dominance.

Packs
Werewolves prefer to stay together, the majority tend to bow to the instinctual need to gather and form packs. The packs can be formed by a family of wolves or wolves that have found one another and come together. There is comfort in the social structure in the stability it provides and increases the chances of survival.
Requirements for a Pack:
✦ 4 active members and a leader (Active means: role-playing at least 1 or 2 days a week on sim)
✦ The Alpha of the group is chosen by the group if there is no other opposition or will challenge another wolf for control if the pack
Why be in a Pack?
✦ Security (strength in numbers), Safety, Reassurance, Unity.
✦ Those in a Pack will have a voice among the werewolves in Ravenhurst
✦ Pack Members are preferred over lone wolves in large gathering of wolves.
✦ The Alpha shares an empathic connection with their pledged wolves. They can get a sense of what their wolves are feeling and share it with the rest of the pack (Emotions only). This is not a form of tele-location or telepathy.

Roles within Werewolf Packs
THE ALPHA WOLVES
Alphas may achieve their status by means of superior physical prowess and/or through social efforts and building alliances within the group.
Requirements to be an Alpha wolf:
✦ Must be an active player (roleplaying at least twice a week on sim).
✦ Must have a pack of 4 or more and be willing to continue to grow it.
✦ Run events for his/her pack once a month such as a hunt or pack meeting.
✦ Seek out and help new wolves on the sim.
✦ Participate and Encourage pack to not only rp with just the pack but with the rest of the sim as well Example: sim events or roaming the town looking for new wolves.
✦ Alphas will be held accountable for being an active roleplayer. If the Alpha of a pack goes missing without informing the Admin, then the Admin may choose to allow his/her pack to pick a new Alpha to lead them. This missing Alpha on their return will lose a level of dominance.
ALPHA perks
✦ The man or woman in charge.
✦ A +4 to the dice roll in a fight if Dice are used.
✦ Is the go to person for any pack member needing help.
✦ Decision maker within the individual pack.
✦ He/she will be the representative for their pack if one is needed.
✦ Can call pack meetings anytime.
✦ Will automatically move to a Level 2 dominance if they are not already and will move to Level 3 dominance after being an Active Alpha for one month.
✦ The Alpha will serve as the representative of his pack among other werewolves pack in the area as well as a chance to serve on the supernatural council.
Regardless of dominance, all who pledge to a leader of any dominant level perceive the leader to be THREE levels higher in dominance while they remain in the pack.
Challenging your Alpha
Most members in a pack are content to follow their alpha. However, from time to time a wolf in the pack feels as though the leadership is not strong enough.
Here are a few rules in that regards:
✦ A challenge in-character most be made.
✦ Once the challenge has been made please contact an Inspired to serve as a moderator. The reason for this is the consequences are high.
✦ If a challenge is made and a fight goes on, the Alpha has the upper hand.
✦ If the Alpha loses he/she must submit or is banished from his/her pack.
✦ If the challenger loses then the Alpha will decide Banishment or death ( this cannot happen with out Admin approval and on a case by case basis).
The Other Members of the Pack:
✦ New/Loner/Drifter (Level 1 Dom) Learning, go with the flow, keep your head down.
✦ Middle of the Pack, (Level 1 Dom) Established and possess an understanding of where you are in the pack and community. To humans, you come across as a strong 'Type A' personality.
✦ Guardians/Soldiers/Warriors. (Level 2 Dom) You must rp distinctly dominant, so any challenges real or perceived must be dealt with. This is essential to your rp.. You understand your roll in the pack but will push the envelope and challenge the Alpha on some matters, and seek to replace them when they falter.
Other Types of Wolves:
Lone Wolves ( Level 1 Dom) Referred to by a number of names (solitaires, loners, odds), are tolerated by packs but still considered strange as there is an instinct to seek out the company of other wolves.
Other wolf roles are closed at the moment due to not enough pack. If the wolves grow in numbers roles such as the Omega may be added later.

Werewolves Now
The Werewolves took many causalities during the Purge as they were often on the front line, defending the world from the Ancients. The most powerful alphas of all the wolf tribes and packs lost their lives in this battle. Despite the terrible loss of their leaders, the wolves never wavered in their stand against the forces of chaos that would harm them and the human. When the dust lifted, the werewolves had prevailed against the Ancient ones.
The wolves are now without their great leaders and need to rebuild. Younger wolves that led in battle stepped up to take leadership position and start to restore order among their race. Throughout recorded history, the wolves have preferred isolation and to stay out of politics, but with the newly formed Council of the Supernatural, they have decided to join in order to try and prevent further disasters. Despite their hatred of the vampires for generations, being forced to fight alongside them in the Purge against a greater enemy caused them to value the certain strengths and weaknesses of their former arch enemy.
After the Purge, the packs went back to their woods, their society a turmoil of competing interests and long held laws suddenly being questioned. Some of the wolves, like many supernaturals, would feel the draw to Ravenhurst. They would come as packs or as individuals looking for a new home. The woods of Ravenhurst supply ample hunting grounds and give them a place of secrecy and safety from being exposed to the humans to give them time to rebuild. The one old law of staying hidden and holding the facade is still of up-most importance.
