What should my character expect while living in Ravenhurst?
Island Life
The island is a temperate rain forest just off the coast of Seattle. This is a small town, everyone knows everyone, the way of life is slower here compared to that of Seattle. The lazy little tourist town provides, hiking trails, fishing, and rest and relaxations for all those that come on to it's shore.
The island is still a center of strong shifting mystical energies and power. For many it acts like a gentle beacon, beckoning, pulling them towards Ravenhurst. The Supernatural Races have learned about the island the benefits that come with living on it.
Weather
There is a good amount of rain on the island all the time. Make sure to have your rain jackets and umbrellas handy. Most days the sky is hidden under the clouds, however on a rare occasion there are some sunny days.
Temperatures are mild through most of the year. During the winter they have been times where the island has gotten snow. The weather reports come out daily.
Windstorms, rainstorms and lightening storms happen all the time. They often hit with little notice but don't often last to long. Storms will knock out power, Internet , and phones (both cellular and landlines) a lot, service at the best of times is shady. Power is restored relatively quickly but the other services could take days.
The Ferry service consists of the Poe and the Nevermore, small ships capable of transporting tractor trailers. Keep in mind that bringing a vehicle across is expensive. The ride takes 45 minutes each way.
Landscape
The island has three main areas: the town, the forest and the waterfront
The Forest Area
The forest is dense, dark and can feel uninviting at the best of times. At night, to mortals, it is oppressive and can be hazardous
The Waterfront
Home of the fisherman, ferry boat and the newly built Ravenhurst North Pier.
Fisherman are usually on their boats and the dock as early as two am. It all depends on their plans. The fishing boats come in at different times.

Ravenhurst North Pier shops are open 9 am to 10 pm. They are at busy in the evenings especially on the weekends.
The Town
Small town America. Population: around 400. Tourist and fishing town. After going through a disastrous times the town is being in the process of being rebuilt. Over the past year many new accommodations have been added. Very little of the original town survived however there are a few ruins here there.
Ravenhurst Town Laws
This is still modern day America, the laws that apply in your real life are the same laws in the town of Ravenhurst. Actions have consequences. Any action that would get you arrested in RL, will get you arrested in Ravenhurst. This can lead to fines, court ordered restrictions, incarceration, and prison. Those causing too much trouble for the local law enforcement might find themselves ‘invited’ to leave the island at a 2am sailing and never return.

What kind of weapons can I carry in town?
Just like in the town you live in. If you walk around with a gun, sword or anything that could be perceived as a weapon out in the open you will be arrested and have the weapon taken from you. If you have a handgun permit you may have that one you but it must be concealed (a shotgun or samurai sword will not fit in your pocket, let's keep it real) Those in violation will be arrested, have the firearm(s) in question seized, and have their day in court. Firearms are still allowed to be kept in homes, and in businesses. The forest in Ravenhurst is consider to be WMA (Wildlife Management Area) therefore hunting is illegal without the proper permits to do so. ( See and Admin) *See the Rules sections for more information on Guns and Combat.
